Paintings inspired by the wild coastal landscapes in the South West of England.

I hope my paintings offer an invitation to stop and pause; to take a moment for reflection and calm.

Taking inspiration from wintery wild coastal landscapes, I’m currently exploring work that offers a sense of spaciousness, visually and emotionally. I love big weather and dramatic skies. For me they offer a space to pause.

Beginning with expressive mark making, building layers and energy. Adding and stripping back until the right balance of strong and delicate, bold and peaceful is achieved, and the energies and big emotions are expressed and contained.

Working with acrylic, ink, and charcoal, scraping and applying paint with different tools to create different energy and moods.

I work intuitively to build textures and compositions that feel strong and peaceful.

A meditation.

A moment of stillness, and a nudge to slow down.
